I put off listening to this after I swiped it from a work colleagues PC just because I thought Elbow were a slightly poppier version of Radiohead. Holy crap where did I get that idea from?? They're anything but that. I have to say that I'm writing this while still listening to it for the first time but I'm impressed. Impressed enough to decide to listen to this instead of putting my entire music library on shuffle anyway.

It's got a laid back acoustic vibe to it and the singer has an emotive whisper of a voice which I like. I suppose you could compare these guys to 'The National' and maybe the Tindersticks. It's always nice to stumble upon a good band when you're not expecting it, and one which I totally tarred with the wrong brush just because I've seen their album in the charts.
